Railroad Spike Knife

Railroad Spike Knife
I started this project by making the blade shape I wanted through lots of forging and hammering. Once I had the blade where I wanted it, I heated up the handle portion, put it in a vice, clamped the top of the handle, and twisted it all the way around. Then I heat treated the knife by heating it up and dipping it in oil till it was cool, and baking it in a toaster oven for an hour at 400 degrees. After that, I used the belt grinder to shape and sharpen the blade.
